Russia Equips Lancet Drones with PTM-3 Anti-Tank Mines

The Russian military has equipped the Lancet drone with a new type of warhead in the form of an anti-tank mine. A video published on X shows the drone armed with a Soviet-designed PTM-3 anti-tank mine, which was originally developed to destroy enemy light and heavy armored vehicles.

The mine has a total weight of 4.9 kg, which matches the drone’s maximum payload capacity. Compared to the standard KZ-6 warhead, the PTM-3 offers improved performance, primarily due to the amount of explosive it contains—1.8 kg versus 1.5 kg in the KZ-6. The total warhead weight also differs: the PTM-2 weighs 3 kg, while the KZ-3 weighs 6 kg.

As for armor penetration, publicly available information states that the PTM-3 can penetrate approximately 80 mm of armor, while the KZ-40 with TG-6 explosives can penetrate up to 200 mm under ideal conditions.
