The first intercity long-range drone logistics route in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has officially launched

According to CCTV News, on July 30, a logistics drone carrying seafood took off from Tangjiagang in Zhuhai, Guangdong. After about 55 minutes of flight crossing Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Guangzhou — covering 82.9 kilometers — it precisely landed at the Suigang Port in Guangzhou. This flight marked the first long-distance intercity flight of a logistics compound-wing aircraft in the Greater Bay Area, successfully validating the real operational feasibility of the long-range intercity logistics chain. It also signifies the opening of the Greater Bay Area’s first ultra-long drone logistics route, effectively opening the “Guangzhou-Zhuhai low-altitude corridor.”

It is reported that the logistics drone in this flight cruised at a speed of approximately 100 kilometers per hour, improving efficiency by 60% compared to land transportation and saving one hour. In the future, it will strongly meet the transportation needs of high time-sensitive goods such as fresh produce and pharmaceuticals within the Greater Bay Area, providing a safe, efficient, and intelligent low-altitude logistics solution.

Looking ahead, this route will deploy heavy-load logistics drones with capacities of 50 kilograms and 200 kilograms. Meanwhile, related drone logistics companies will continue to add routes connecting prime inner-bay cities such as Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, and Foshan. They will also explore cross-border logistics routes involving Hong Kong and Macau, forming a logistics route network covering the entire Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s prime inner-bay region.
