Russia’s Svarog-Series 50kg Cargo Drones to Be Deployed to Frontline in August

Russian soldiers stationed in the Special Military Operation (SVO) border patrol region near Siberia will begin receiving heavy cargo drones in August to supply troops in frontline areas that are difficult to access. These drones are designed to deliver supplies to soldiers at the front lines, according to an official representative from the Frobotics Advanced Development Engineering Center. Russian developers have created a new cargo drone named “Svarog,” which has a payload capacity of up to 50 kilograms. The drone is scheduled to be shipped to the front in August to support combat operations. It is capable of transporting all essential supplies needed by soldiers, and its high payload allows for the delivery of large quantities of cargo in a single flight.

According to TASS, a representative from the development company stated that delivery drones are being actively used in the SVO region, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. However, if detected, the enemy will “mercilessly shoot them down.” As a result, drone deliveries are primarily carried out at night. The use of cargo drones can save the lives of Russian soldiers.

Russian drone cargo logistics in conflict zone

Given that Ukrainian forces frequently open fire on supply vehicles, 10 supply trucks were destroyed by Ukrainian troops in just one week during missions along the line of contact (LBS). Using drones to resupply fighters has become crucial, as someone is often killed during conventional transport missions.
