Ukraine’s Posipaky drone interception unit successfully shot down two of Russia’s advanced new Shahed drones. Volunteer Serhii Sternenko shared footage of one interception on social media. Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence revealed that these drones can serve both as reconnaissance tools and as decoys to identify and overload Ukrainian air defense systems. Some reports also claim they can carry warheads weighing up to 15 kg.
(The drone’s fuselage is designed with a delta wing shape, similar to the Shahed-136, but noticeably smaller in size.)
Most components used in this Russian drone are made in China. According to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate, nearly half of these components — including the flight controller with autopilot, navigation module and antenna, and airspeed tube — come from the Chinese company CUAV Technology, which specializes in the research, development, and manufacturing of UAV system modules and applications.

The drone is also equipped with China-manufactured Australian RFD900x data transmission modules from RFDesign. Like the original, Chinese products can transmit data over long distances — up to 40 km line-of-sight depending on the antenna.

This equipment can establish data transfer channels from the drone to the ground station or between drones, enhancing reconnaissance capabilities. The Shahed drone is equipped with a Chinese engine and a DLE-60 electronic ignition module.
