Media reports indicate that since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has acquired chips and sensors worth approximately $4 billion.
Most of these components originated from Hong Kong, which has a large network of shell companies responsible for exporting these devices. Russia used these components to produce weapons, including drones, cruise missiles, and more.
Analysis of Russian customs data, company records, domain registrations, and sanction documents shows that Russia obtained over $4 billion worth of chips and other semiconductors through more than 6,000 shell companies.
