The “Syla Svobody” (Freedom Force) Battalion of the “Rubizh” Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard recently completed a unique and challenging mission: delivering an electric bicycle to an injured soldier trapped behind enemy lines using a heavy-lift drone. The battalion released a video of this special operation on its YouTube channel on July 30.
The Syla Svobody Battalion stated: “This video tells the story of the strength of spirit, brotherhood, and the belief in saving lives.” The battalion’s position had been surrounded during a Russian attack, resulting in the deaths of three soldiers.

The only remaining defender was a soldier with the callsign “Tanker.” Despite being wounded, Tanker continued to hold the position alone. With the nearest friendly unit about 1.5 kilometers away, Tanker was unable to retreat on foot.
For several days, allied drones monitored and supported him, and commanders confirmed that during this time, he successfully destroyed multiple enemy FPV drones.

To evacuate him, the battalion devised an unprecedented plan: to deliver an electric bicycle to his position via drone.
“Tanker” then set off toward friendly lines, but about 400 meters from safety, he triggered a landmine. Miraculously, he survived without serious injuries and was quickly evacuated by infantry.

The first delivery attempt failed when the drone was shot down.
The second drone could not carry the overweight cargo.
It wasn’t until the third attempt that a heavy-duty drone finally succeeded in delivering the electric bicycle.
“Tanker” was able to ride the electric bicycle to the safe zone.
